DESCRIPTION:The second annual Drive the Delta is set!  Once again\, we will be headed out to drive the back roads along the Sacramento Delta as we head towards the river town of Rio Vista.  If you’ve never driven these roads you are in for quite a treat\, just ask any of us who went last year.  The route will be changed slightly from last year but rest assured we still plan on crossing the sloughs on either the J-Mack or Real McCoy ferries.  Once in Rio Vista\, we will lunch along the river at The Point restaurant. DESCRIPTION:Our annual banquet dinner is set to be one of our best ever.  This year\, the banquet will be held at the Del Paso Country Club on Marconi Ave. in Sacramento.  Come join us for a fantastic evening\, enjoying a delicious dinner\, as you overlook the club’s beautiful golf course.\nThe night will start with a no-host cocktail hour.  Beer\, wine\, and all your favorite liquors will be available for purchase.  Following the cocktail hour\, the club’s executive chef has created an incredible buffet dinner for your dining pleasure.  The buffet will include an assortment of salads and vegetables\, along with beef\, chicken\, and seafood entrees.  Dessert will follow.  For those wishing to bring their own wine\, there will be a $15.00 corkage fee.  Following dinner\, sit back and enjoy our guest speaker.\nTony Hunt has agreed to be the guest speaker at this year’s banquet.  For those wondering who Tony is\, Tony was the driver double for actor Christian Bale in the movie “Ford v Ferrari.”  Tony owns one of the cars used in the movie\, a reproduction 1963 AC Cobra roadster.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate and Tony will bring the car for display.  For those who have a special car\, I encourage you to bring it out also as the club has a long circular driveway where they can be displayed.\nAll ticket sales will be handled online only by clicking on the Store menu button at the top of our website  or directly at the link below.  There will be no tickets sold by mail nor will checks be accepted.  We have set the cost at $50 per person\, with the club picking up the remainder. DESCRIPTION:We are headed back to Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows to participate in OnGrid’s HPDE track day.  This is your chance to take your car out and see what it can do\, as you head around Thunderhill West’s two-mile track.  OnGrid will have a special run group for drivers with little or no track experience\, just as they did last year\, so that you can experience the thrill of driving your car spiritedly in a safe and controlled environment. \nOnGrid is one of many promoters of HPDE’s at various racetracks throughout the country.  As with any company\, they are always looking to increase their customer base.  In doing so\, they have a run group at this event specifically for the novice driver with little or no track experience.  Many of you participated in this event last year and we are promoting it again this year.  Please note\, neither the BMW CCA nor SVBMWCCA is sanctioning this event.  It is totally and strictly\, an OnGrid event\, in no way sponsored\, sanctioned or affiliated with either the SVBMWCCA or BMW CCA. DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a driving tour to the Gold Rush town of Alleghany\, CA (population 60).  Located in Sierra County\, it has a working gold mine\, the sixteen-to-one\, that has been in operation since the Gold Rush days.  We’ll be stopping at what was the only bar in town\, which is now a “social hall” with a $5.00 membership fee.  The membership fee entitles you to a free beer. DESCRIPTION:For our general meeting we will be meeting at Starbucks at El Dorado Town Center at 9:00am then departing at 9:30am for a drive to Plymouth for wine tasting and lunch. The first stop will be at Rombauer winery at 10:30am. Then we will head over to Nora’s Kitchen for lunch at 12:00pm which is adjacent to Borjon winery where we will have our 2nd tasting at 1:30pm. \nNora’s serves Mexican food. Rombauer also has a food truck on site serving small plates. Tasting fees are $20 per person (waived with 3 bottle purchase or members) and $5-$15 for Borjon (refundable with a purchase of a bottle within the flight). DESCRIPTION:It’s time for our annual Poker Run!  This event was a ton of fun and we had a great turnout back in 2019.  We’ll have cash prizes you can win for the best poker hands at the end of the drive.  Each poker hand will cost $15 and will enter you in the chance to win a prize.  If poker isn’t your thing and you just want to do the drive\, then there’s no need to buy any tickets.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with how a poker run works\, we’ll make sure to explain the rules the morning of the event. SUMMARY:Slot Car Racing and Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Our monthly meeting is this Saturday\, July 9 at 9am at Fast Track Hobbies in Rocklin.  The reason we picked Fast Track Hobbies as a meeting location is because they have three slot car tracks!  After our meeting and some socializing\, we’ll be running a slot car tournament.  The space is limited to 15 spots in the tournament so sign up early.  Member cost is only $5 per entry.  Since space is limited\, we’re asking members to purchase tickets early if you plan on racing. DESCRIPTION:Club Photo: On Sunday\, September 18th\, we have a full morning planned.  We’ll start off nice and early meeting downtown near the State Capitol to get a club photo.  This photo has been something we’ve been trying to get done for a while.  We’ve been in touch with the CHP and we think we’ve got a good time picked out.  There should be very little traffic and there are no major events going on.  We’ll meet on N Street between 9th and 10th streets at 6:30am.
