On October 19\, they are holding an event at Thunderhill Raceway Park. As with any company\, they are always looking to increase their customer base. In doing so\, they have proposed a run group at this event specifically for the novice driver with little or no track experience. As many of you have asked about just such an event\, we went ahead and promoted it to our chapter members. Please note this event is NOT sanctioned by either BMW CCA or SVBMWCCA. We have reserved the kart track at Prairie City Karting (pckarting.com) for this fun filled event. Test your driving skills against other club members as you race around the track at over 50 mph. There are a limited number of spots available\, so sign up early. Non-members may participate in this event if sponsored by an active member. The cost will be $100 per driver to include a pre-walk of the track along with three racing sessions. Transponders will be used to time the your laps. Spectators are welcome and may attend at no charge. \nAppropriate attire is jeans and sneakers\, no shorts allowed. Jackets and helmets will be provided by the track. You may bring your own if you so desire. Helmets must be Snell 10 or 15. All drivers must be at least 16-years of age and have a valid drivers license. \nThere will be a no host BBQ after the event. A grill will be provided. Pack your food and drinks\, and stay and socialize with your fellow racers. \nTo reserve your spot you must sign up on our club store page (just click the link “Store” at the top of our website) and pay a $15 deposit per driver. The route will be changed slightly from last year but rest assured we still plan on crossing the sloughs on either the J-Mack or Real McCoy ferries.
