And if you’re worried that you might be touring some dirty old paint and body shop\, you’ll be pleasantly surprised!  This has to be one of the cleanest facilities of its kind I have ever seen.  Not only that\, you will most likely see an array of high dollar exotics in for repair. SUMMARY:OnGrid HPDE at Thunderhill Raceway Park
DESCRIPTION:OnGrid is one of many promoters of High Performance Driving Events (HPDE’s) at various racetracks throughout the country.  On October 19\, they are holding an event at Thunderhill Raceway Park.  As with any company\, they are always looking to increase their customer base.  In doing so\, they have proposed a run group at this event specifically for the novice driver with little or no track experience.  As many of you have asked about just such an event\, we went ahead and promoted it to our chapter members.  Please note this event is NOT sanctioned by either BMW CCA or SVBMWCCA.  It is totally and strictly an OnGrid event and in no way sponsored\, sanctioned or affiliated with either the SVBMWCCA or BMW CCA.  As this is an OnGrid event\, all drivers must comply with OnGrids rules\, regulations\, and policies.  SVBMWCCA is only sharing the event information for your consideration. \nThis run group will be limited to 28 cars (does not have to be a BMW\, no SUV’s or soft-top convertibles allowed).  There will be club members with track experience who have volunteered to ride along with those who would like to have a more experienced person in the car with them. DESCRIPTION:Ready for a fun filled event at the California Automobile Museum (CAM)?  Then bring the family to the CAM and join us for their annual Christmas Tree Decorating Party and Potluck Dinner (kids are invited).  This event is held exclusively for all the local car clubs who have joined the CAM as club members.  Held on the Sunday after Thanksgiving\, it’s a great way to start the holiday season.  Each car club will decorate their own Christmas tree\, which will remain on the floor at CAM throughout the holiday season.  Each club member is asked to bring an ornament for our club’s tree.  It can be as simple as a picture of you car encased in one of those clear ornament cases or as elaborate as you want it to be. \nCAM will be providing the main course (ham) and the individual club members are asked to bring cold side dishes and desserts.  The BMW club is tasked with each member bringing a cold side dish or salad to share.  Please do not bring a hot dish as they have no way to keep it warm. SUMMARY:Go Kart Racing
DESCRIPTION:We’re headed back to the karting track for another day of racing!  We have reserved the kart track at Prairie City Karting (pckarting.com) for this fun filled event.  Test your driving skills against other club members as you race around the track at over 50 mph.  There are a limited number of spots available\, so sign up early. Non-members may participate in this event if sponsored by an active member.  The cost will be $100 per driver to include a pre-walk of the track along with three racing sessions.  Transponders will be used to time the your laps. Spectators are welcome and may attend at no charge.   \nAppropriate attire is jeans and sneakers\, no shorts allowed.  Jackets and helmets will be provided by the track.  You may bring your own if you so desire.  Helmets must be Snell 10 or 15.  All drivers must be at least 16-years of age and have a valid drivers license.   \nThere will be a no host BBQ after the event.  A grill will be provided.  Pack your food and drinks\, and stay and socialize with your fellow racers.  \nTo reserve your spot you must sign up on our club store page (just click the link “Store” at the top of our website) and pay a $15 deposit per driver.  You will pay the remaining $85 at the track on the day of the event.  CASH is the preferred payment method at the track.  Saturday is open track day after our club event.  If anyone would like to stay and do additional track time\, it is available for an extra fee.  Please contact us via our website if you have any questions.
